One day in 2010, I heard a replay of a radio programme originally broadcasted on New Year 2009. It was Malcolm McLaren speaking about his personal musical journey from the 40s to the 90s: starting with early influences to his contributions, set to a cultural and historical context. I was particularly drawn to some of his words that came almost at the end of the three-part series; it was McLaren's prediction for the year, the future, our future. His words described what I thought I'd try to do with THE BEAUTIFUL AND THE GOOD, much better than I ever could. So borrowing the words of the man:

"...but it's on the turn towards something else...
...more slow...
...more focused...
...more reassuring I think...
...more caring and ultimately...
...more profound.

It's not about the shock of the new.
It's about the love of the newly familiar.

To show something old in a new way.
To have ideals again."
